Hellooo! I finished “Esio Trot” by Roald Dahl yesterday but it was too late to write a review so I decided to write it today. “Esio Trot” is a short book about a shy man called Mr Hoppy who lives alone. Mr Hoppy lives in a flat with a balcony and just underneath lives an “attractive middle-aged woman” called Mrs Silver. Mrs Silver is a widow who also lives alone. Mr  Hoppy has two loves in his life his plants and Mrs Silver (although she doesnt know it…). But, Mrs Silver also has a love… her pet tortoise Alfie.

I like this book because I love Roald Dahl’s imagination, the illustations and his clever use of words (‘Esio Trot’ for example is ‘Tortoise’ backwards) and the way he makes up some words (most are in the BFG). Esio Trot is a well-loved story and Roald Dahl is a well loved author. I would age rate it 5-11.
